New Guy here: What will I gain/miss switching from Sonar 8.31?

MessageAuthor

I came from Sonar 8.3.1 also. The only thing I prefer in Sonar is the way they do MIDI drum maps. On the audio side, no comparison. Once you learn the routing capabilities, you'll never want to go back. Every time I go back and work on an older Sonar project, I end up appreciating Reaper more. Take the plunge...I highly doubt you'll be disappointed. Regards, DB

First MANY thanks to those that have responded! I think I need to check out a couple of things, since you guys have given me the 'proper" feature name(I hope) I will search on them and check them out Things I know I'd like 1. Scalable automation 2. Nesting track folders 3. Better routing, (all I know is Sonar is a pain, not flexable) 4. Sidechaining to all plugs (is that correct?) Things I have to lookup 1 Ripple editing- 2. Fx Chains - are these like presets for order of FX WITHOUT having to load a channel and then copy events over? If so YEAH! again thanks, and so far you guys are only leading me to SPEND SOME TIME WITH REAPER . . . LOL !! I sounds like I need to as soon as this current project gets put to bed. Thanks again all

I'm a two timer with my DAW's !! ( Is reaper the jealous type ??) Believe me ; much safer than trying that one on wifey !!!!! ( I remember a comic saying that it gets tiresome saying " O.K. , I get my shit and get out .........as soon as it stops burning !) I'm sure I won't be going for anymore sonar udgrades.
