How do disable the plug-in window?

MessageAuthor

Hey guys, is there a way to disable the plug-in window when I load a new FX-instrument in Reaper? I know that if you double click on the instrument in the list, the instrument is shown in its own, new window, without the list on the left side. I'd like to have it this way by default. Thanks in advance!

How are you going to choose a new effect if you don't see the FX list (plug-in window?) from where to get it? That said, you can right-click over the FX button to get another directory listing of FXs to choose from. All current track effects (ie. the ones you have already chosen) can be added to the bottom of that list from Preferences/Plug-ins; tick Show current track FX in FX button right-click menu. After that you can right-click over the FX button and left-click the FX name you want to open.

Thanks, I will try it out. Maybe I used the wrong words. Of course it is necessary to have the plug-in window but after I chose for example Omnisphere I'd like to see the Omnisphere interface only and not the Omnisphere interface plus the white list on the left side. If I double click on omnisphere which can be found in this list Reaper generates a new window with the Omnisphere interface only. Maybe it is possible to have the instrument interface directly shown.

No problem. The right-click menu thing works almost like the method you described but you'll get a bit different view to begin with. I find it a bit faster and easier though. edit: nice to hear it works for you!

If your window settings are the same as my screenshot, the plugin should float on its own as soon as its selected.
